Frequently asked Questions
You are not quite sure yet whether the Marburg Running School is suitable for you? Maybe you will find the answers to your questions here:
How fast and how far
do I have to be able to run to keep up with you?
→ We usually run about 10 km at a pace of 6 to 7 min/km. For beginners, we can run partial laps by arrangement.
Do you run on
flat routes
or routes with a lot of
elevation gain?
→ Fortunately, both are possible in Marburg, and we make the route selection dependent on the respective needs of the group.
Is
barefoot running
compulsory with you?
→ We don't want to force anyone to run barefoot, but rather to inspire you to do so. If you join us, you will probably realize quickly and in a playful way that unshod running is not "witchcraft" and is much easier on suitable terrain than most people think.
A good opportunity to get into barefoot running without (perceived) pressure is to talk to one of us at the
Lahnwiesen Parkrun
and then casually try a short distance without shoes.
What does it cost to participate?
→ All our
training offers and events are free of charge, because running is a hobby and passion for us. We enjoy passing on our running experience and getting to know new sporty, motivated people.
Do I have to apply for
membership
with you?
→ No, you can simply join the running school without prior formalities. But feel free to write us a short
e-mail
before you come to the training for the first time.
I am unsure about my fitness and do not have the confidence to join the group training. Can I arrange an
individual trial training session?
→ Yes! Martin, the head of the running school, will be happy to arrange a relaxed run with you and take a look at your general condition and running technique without any time pressure. Of course, this also does not cost you anything. Feel free to contact us via the contact form.
